Trying out my new Nikon P610's 60X optical zoom. This is an image of some of the cast iron statues that form "Another Place" on Crosby beach. These statues are 6ft 2in high and the beach is at least 2.5 miles from "Glorious" New Brighton promenade.

This is not the clearest image but when you consider the distance I think it's quite impressive.

You find that the quality loses at full zoom, especially hand held!...

but this is a lot better than most I have seen!..

On full zoom it is better to use a tripod Steve. You have got a passable shot here considering the distance.

This look like a scene from an old black and white Sci-fi movie. The aliens have landed in their flying saucer, and now are invading the beach on foot. What happens next? Pretty good considering the distance.
