Pretty good first experiment Brandon. It's great that you are getting into these tools, they can make a huge difference to your images. Once you know how to use them and what they can achieve, then that sits in your head when you are out in the field taking shots and you start to "see" ways your digital skills can "fix" problems that nature puts in your way, posts that can be cloned out later, etc etc, so you take MORE shots in the field, your options open up. The effect you've produced in this shot is cool, the aspect ratio might work better if you crop this one narrow and tall, like many of Owd Bob's "vertical landscapes", working with the fact that all the interest is in the centre column of this image.
