Legend has it that the Holy Grail lies buried beneath this neoclassical church. Whether there is any truth to the myth or not, we know for sure that the church was commissioned in the 1830's to celebrate the return of Vittorio Emanuele I after the Congress of Vienna. If the architecture of the church reminds you of the Pantheon, you might want to know that the royal architect Ferdinando Bonsignore was in fact inspired by the famous Roman temple-church. The two statues (of Faith and Religion) by Carlo Chelli of Carrara stand on both sides of the stairs leading to the entrance. This church has a somewhat exotic appeal, and it is also conveniently located near the river.

Im never much of a believer in myths and legends, but the well captured glow of the church does suggest Godly status. The trees are well positioned to make the structure seem to rise above them. Well found and well taken!

Very nice shot, and much agreeing on the comments about the aura. A few personal things - it might look better if the church was a little lower in the frame and slightly farther to the right (like not quite in the bottom right corner, but close), and if the small dots of light about half-way up the frame were edited out. Overall, this is a very good picture.

at the end of the game, the king and the pawn go back into the same box
