So, I'm taking a photography class and we were encouraged to put some of our pictures up online to get constructive criticism on them. So here we go. This is taken from a park near the river that I now live by.
The composition is good. The exposure is good too.My eye goes to the houses and boats first.I like your eye for this comp, its the subject that lacks interest for me.North Shore?.
I agree, you need more light. If you capture this on a sunnier day, not only will the sky and stuff be brighter, but you may get some stunning reflections on the water as well.
I like the divisions of space in this photo- the crooked "L" of the shoreline, the nice proprtion of what is above and below the skyline.
Good luck with your class, and keep posting!
Hey Hallia,
It's been a long time that I've seen an image from you,
I was a great fan of your mysterious green faerie style images, but I understand not many photography classes would allow those,
I agree with the other comments about the brightening up (especially the snowy foreground), and the more or less distracting boats on the right,
All in all, I like the idea of a quiet place sitting aside a lovely winterly river scene,
Nicely done,
Thanks for sharing
Wish you lots of luck from Europe
Kind♥regards
Tim
Thanks for your comments everyone! There were some brighter images (when the sun obligingly came out from behind the clouds) but I over-exposed and it was sort of this big blob of white.
