I was only able to catch the trailing end of the eclipse (had to shoot at a sporting event), so I took this from the parking lot with the setup I was using to shoot indoor sports (1D MkII and a 300 f/2.8 IS). If I only I had finished sooner, and brought the 400 f/2.8 + 1.4x teleconverter. October 27, 2004
I used to do what I refered to as a Moon-Shot project where I would shoot a whole roll of film with just the moon (taking notes on where I placed it for each frame) using a cheap 300mm (f5.6 I think) zoom with a 2x TC and then roll the film back and re-insert it for double exposing the daytime/nitetime foreground scene (using my notes for vertical/horizontal left/right etc) due to my cheap lense and resulting shutter speed the moon could have been crisper for my tastes. (the moon moves mighty fast across the sky at that magnification)
I for one would like to see any moon you'd care to submit .. eclipse or no.
