After Hurricane Rita came in I went to see what was left. there was nothing at all. The storm surge had been over 20'. The photos could not show what I felt and what must have been like, this manipulation may begin to show the powerful storm, the surge and the destruction.

Hey Bryan,
Nice picture, I like it a lot,
It is a great alternation of reality IMO, and by this reflects the 'true' reality of life in a hurricane perfectly,
I enjoy the panorama effect of the lines in cooperation with the pano itself, (~8 8~)
It represents what you felt at the moment (and perhaps now), and it is how lots of people feel, perhaps in a different manner but you get the picture,
Showing the true power of nature isn't easy, no unmanipulated picture can ever show that tremendous reality, it is something deeper than visual life shows us, therefor we should express the emotions and mood we absorb which you've done nicely here,
Beautifully done,

Thanks for sharing
Tim

I really like manipulations like this one, it adds to the emotion of the capture and sets a very particular mood. Very nice work.

I have to admit that Tim's sorta had the first and last word on this one.. your manipulation is dramatic and impactful. PJ

Being from Louisiana and having been lucky enough to live through several major hurricanes in my life, (Betsy, Andrew, and Katrina) just to name a few. I can relate to your narrative and post. Good Work. Faved !

I am really impressed, how you were able to show your feelings. Rita is some times away, as I remember, and still you feel that hard, cold and shocked by it. I think as a lucky person who never were in a real storm, I can not really feel like you, but your image helps a bit to understand ...

There's a sense of utter desolation, enhanced by the orange glow of the sun. Makes me think of a devastated land where the sun is the only thing alive. This is excellent in conveying those sentiments Bryan. :)
