Gorgeous butterflies! I'm not exactly sure what they are either but you've captured them beautifully! So detialed and clear. Love it!

I am not sure, but the colors indicate it is a moth. Anyway very interesting closeup. I like the patterns on its wings very much.

This is called an "owl butterfly". They camouflage themselves on the trunks of trees as you have demonstrated with your picture and the markings on their wings deter predators since they think it is the eye of an owl ! :~)

I really like the way it has adapted to have the look of a larger animal . The eye patterns are great. Nature always amassess me.
