Jazz, don't be afraid of contrast! You should definitely use some lighter *and* darker shades of everything to make your picture stand out more. Excellent start!

I agree with nadz, that it needs more contrast, around the facial features especially. nice hair though :)

I love the detail on the hair, from my own experience i know that curves are really hard to draw (even with a wacom tablet).
The trees are really good, but the uneven blur kinda confuses me as i look at it (hence the name? :P)
Overall a solid piece of work, but a bit more work on the shading and this would definitely be uber awesome!
Keep them coming :D
