The range of this species extends from northern Africa throughout Europe to central Asia. It inhabits open deciduous woods, and oak and beech forests. Second generation, from July to September.

Hello Eric, wonderful shot. A different species than found in USA for sure. Very good detail. You really are developing quite the butterfly gallery. Hats off to you, these are not that easy a shot!
