Ganymede, the largest of Jupiter's moons, really does look a bit like blue cheese. Discovered by Galileo in 1610. This is a new image with a few PS touches of my own. Credit NASA.
but what would it cost to bottle it and ship it back .. I don't think it'll be profitable .. but a catchy name and an ad campaign that borrows from Loreal's "Because I'm Worth It" concept ... just might do it
"Tracey's Spacey Blue Cheese Dressing"
"Granny's Ganymede Sauce"
"The surgeaon general has determined that this might make things grow on you"
I am currently reading a book entitled "Pale Blue Dot" by the late Carl Sagan. It paints an amazing picture of our solar system as Sagan traces back the early unmanned space exploration of the 60's and 70's. Jupiter definitely holds many wonders, and this large moon is certainly counted among them! Nice post!
Uhh. Sorry for this, but this image is actually of Enceladus, another moon of Saturn. The channels near the south pole (naturally bluish) are a unique, tell-tale feature. Great image though, and nice PS effects. Good job.
