I thought it would be appropiate to share this since Memorial Day is coming up soon. This was taken at Gettysburg, PA. My great great grandfather fought here in July 1863, but survived the battle. This gentleman paid the ultimate price so that an idea and way of life, called "America" could live on.

Wow.. how sad to have an unmarked grave. This is simple & powerful and devinly appropriate for the upcoming Memorial Day. Thanks for sharing it!

Hmmm.. what if that is a Confederate soldier's grave? Think their spirit might be a little peeved to have the Yankee's flag placed on it?

This is a very poignant image. I guess it should be a comfort that so few are "unknown" in contemporary wars. At least their families have some closure. This poor individual's loved ones could never have known exactly how he was lost.
