Very dramatic image; the deep shadow emphasizes the sky the ground reflection puts you in rain with the man. Invites sympathy foe the subject.

It has very strong Euro look to it.Quite a capture and mood you have found and I agree with Pierre the focal point is the solitary figure in the center.Check out my image Katy Trail I think we were on the same track only hemispheres away.

The reason why the viewers eyes are drawn towards is really quite simple. It is called leading, a lead is something that gives a general direction to a view but is not interesting enough to capture the mind. And here there are many, many leads.
1) The verticality of the whole picture.
2) Starting from top many standing vertical objects.
3) And finally, at the bottom, the most clear vertical object, also most recognizable and interesting vertical object in the pic, with addition of the church towers on the left.

So the eyes are compelled to seek the first interesting part of this song of verticality. =o) (Thus the man on the foreground)

Very good in this, the mood is set by the hurrying of the people, the color adds into it and the milieu is just perfect.
These kind of photos I call pockets of frozen time. It is so good it could come to life any moment.

Also note how the man and his shadow form a complex vertical object.
This is really a pic one could spend time and thought with. Well done! 10/10
