A shot from last weekend. As I approaced the lady sitting on the bench, she struck me as a very lonely sole. There was not a family at the tables, the tree beside her was dead, and, she also seemed to be patiently waiting for someone. Thus the title.

How long did it take for her to call the cops on you? JK It's a very lovely scene and colors are awesome. You have some of that Sandi, Tigger sky going for you. It was nice in Missouri Saturday also. Good day for taking photo's. Very nice post John.

Moody image and also very beautiful. Wonderful capture. The story behind it is so sad, but I hope her waiting was rewarded :-)

I too hope whomever she was waiting for arrived soon, unless she wanted to enjoy the solitude of this beautiful place alone. The colors are just amazing in this from top to bottom. I really like your composition in this with her being in the shade of the trees.

EDITED COMMENT. Very nice picture, John. Looks like a golf course. Tell the lady the doctor will be with her shortly. Ha...I couldn't resist.

She was perhaps happy that you took a moment to speak with her. A really nice park this appears to be and again, more fall colors.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

This is just like me - having got tired of whistling and whistling for Boo boo I decide to give up all the encouragement for him to return and wait - simply wait - more or less patiently - nothing else to do with a wandering star - I mean dog ...
Beautiful - absolutely beautiful image !!!

I wonder what was on her mind too John. You're right that it all looks a bit bleak with the tree. But the sky's bright and the colours on the trees are deep, so I hope whatever it was didn't stop her enjoying the view.

alone with her thoughts! ...and what a better setting! Maybe the gamma can be increased slightly as the sky is a little dark, but a lovely view across this parkland John!
