I see you have your little red tree with you again. I think you should give it a name because it follows you (or you follow it) everywhere. I'll toss out a candidate for a name. Shadow, I believe. This photo really tells me a lot. All the tree tops, save shadow, are bare and remaining foliage is on the bottom. Perfect example how the high ups don't do much and the lower level workers get the job done. Another bend in the path. This always adds hope to your photo's. Good post John.

Pretty nice, John. With all your walking around taking pictures, I bet you had to get a new pair of Nikes. I like the diagonals of the shadows in this picture. The red tree really stands out. Nice composition.
John, I think the distinguishing thing for me about the way your photography has developed recently is the use you are making of light. I can't help thinking that you and I are on a similar mission - I am on as steep a learning curve as you and we have been learning together. The light in this photograph is beautiful and it really maximises the colours and shapes. It's a really lovely shot.
Thanks to all my friends for the wonderful images I get to look at and learn from on Caedes every day. I always have something to say about them, but don't always have the time to record it. Please forgive me if I can't comment on all of your uploads.
I can't tell if it's morning or night, but from what I have seen you post, I am going to go with morning and tell you that I love those long, tall shadows and that lovely lone tree with orange leaves. Your images are just warm and wonderful.
You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

It would appear the sun has had its say for the day.atmosphere here is the main point and well done.....lines are strong as others have pointed out and the lighting, though very good, is a bit overexposed in places.
"I never looked for it, gave it no name; yet I knew it always, when the gift of peace came. I stood quite still for the moment that it lasted...Then the light shifted slightly and the moment passed, leaving me...with the lasting echo of its presence.." Diana Gabaldon
