"To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter; to be thrilled by the stars at night; to be elated over a bird's nest or a wildflower in spring - these are some of the rewards of the simple life."
John Burroughs

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
Mark Twain

"You can't see Canada across Lake Erie, but you know it's there. It's the same with spring. You have to have faith, especially in Cleveland."
Paul Fleischman.

Great lighting in this. I like the broken trees almost laying in the water. Good colors, too. Nice work, John. Nice to see green leaves again, isn't it?

Great quotes and a great photo from the master word/image collaborator. Just wonderful spring colors. I spent most of the day in the woods, hunting mushrooms, taking photos and thinking. Hopefully the photos are the best, because I didn't end up with a lot of mushrooms or any deep thoughts. Good post John.

Looks like it's greening up in your part of the world too... Sweet! I think all three quotes are great and apropos... Like Tick I spent a good portion of the day walking in the forest catching the beautiful day with photos...

This is simply beautiful John. It is almost that I am stood there with you looking on this scene. It is so nice to see the new spring growth and I always love the water element in your pictures too, as it has a life of a different nature, which adds to it! Well done!

Having just returned from Cleveland I LMAO off a the final quote. Great capture though John, I don't know about you but here in Wisconsin it seemed that everything went from grey and muddy to green and budding in about 4 hours! Nice job capturing the transition!
