Why should we think upon things that are lovely? Because thinking determines life. It is a common habit to blame life upon the environment. Environment modifies life but does not govern life. The soul is stronger than its surroundings.
William James

If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.
Thomas Jefferson

If pigs could vote, the man with the slop bucket would be elected swineherd every time, no matter how much slaughtering he did on the side.
Orson Scott Card

Don't sweat the petty things, or was it 'don't pet the sweaty things'? I've forgotten and I'm drunk.
Oscar Wilde

I like that....don't pet the sweaty things, I've forgotten and I'm drunk. LOL. Excellent lighting in this pretty shot, John. I like the line of trees, too. Nice. (Not your cell, I see.) LOL.

Reminds me of a Seurat painting, John. Such a lovely setting and the lighting helps so much to make it extra appealing. I agree with Jefferson and Card. This post is special.

Such a peaceful and gorgeous scene you capture here John. Love the lighting and colours, plus the haze in the background. Looks like a fabulous place to just walk and watch

A great place to sit if you are squirrel hunting. You just wait for them to start stirring around. Now to be able to stay awake leaning against that tree.

Lol, I love the Oscar Wilde quote! Great composition with the trees lined up... I like the light and shadow falling across the grass and the greenness. And the fog disappearing in the distance. I could sit under one of the trees and read and write to my heart's content...

I like how each tree on the right is slightly lighter than the one next to it, until it opens out onto the sunlit opening. Lovely image John!
