After you cross the Natural Bridge you come upon this cover porch, at the top of the mountain. And, it is here, where Stepping Stones, was photographed.
Looks like these are more setting type steps. A place to sit while something was going on in front of the cabin structure. The big log rails would provide a place for those on the top row to lean back. A fine shot from your recent journey.
It makes you wonder just who all has walked there. This is a great shot, John. I love the textures, and colors in the steps and stones, and the old railing on the porch. Lots of history there, I bet.
I like things made with the natural rocks from the area Shads. It looks like they have closed off that entrance to the shelter. I can see the railing to another entrance. Good place for lunch I would suspect.
