I am guessing you are on the outside since the gate swings open this way. The tall grass would make it difficult to open the other direction. Good textures and the red gate could piss a bull off, Shads. :) "Better off then on," as my Grandpa was fond of saying.
TicK (a wanna be investigator) makes some interesting observations, John. Both sides of the gate/fence look peaceful and you did wonderfully capturing that peace in this photo. Fantastico!

John, very good composition. I think that for even a better painterly effect the 'modern' red gated could be removed temporary. Might have brought you in troubles, not meant in a way by Tick, but otherwise, lol.
