From birth to death we explore and seek, and in the end we arrive where we started, the past having made one great slow turn on a carousel to become our future, and if we have learned anything worth learning, the carousel will bring us to the one place we most need to be.
Dean Koontz, Deeply Odd

I live my life in growing orbits which move out over this wondrous world, I am circling around God, around ancient towers and I have been circling for a thousand years. And I still don't know if I am an eagle or a storm or a great song.
Rainer Maria Rilke, Rilke's Book of Hours: Love Poems to God

Everything an Indian does is in a circle, and that is because the power of the World always works in circles, and everything tries to be round. The sky is round and I have heard the earth is round like a ball, and so are all the stars. The wind in its greatest power whirls, birds make their nest in circles, for theirs is the same religion as ours. The sun comes forth and goes down again in a circle. The moon does the same and both are round. Even the seasons form a great circle in their changing, and always come back again to where they were. Our teepees were round like the nests of birds. And they were always set in a circle, the nation's hoop.
Chief Black Elk

Our task must be to free ourselves by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty.
Albert Einstein

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

You are talking in circles, but I like it Shads. I think Chief Black Elk had it figured out. Beautiful image to go with the deep thoughts.

Your creative genius is parallel to the magnificent philosophy that is presented in your text. The combination of art and philosophy is natural, and you have so brilliantly given us both. Excellent creation. Favorite.

When I first saw it as a thumbnail I was reminded of a satellite photo of a large city, containing numerous domed enclosures, situated on the shore of a peninsula, like perhaps Florida in an alternate universe. Enlargement shows further dimension to what I thought of as the off-shore "shallows" in the lower right. Diggin' it.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
