You wish to be liked. I wish simply to be. One day you will know what that means, perhaps. And you will smile. Not against me. But with me.
John Fowles, The Magus

One ship drives east, and another west
With the self-same winds that blow;
'Tis the set of the sails
And not the gales
That decides the way to go.

Like the winds of the sea are the ways of fate,
As they voyage along through life;
'Tis the will of the soul
That decides its goal,
And not the calm or the strife.
Ella Wheeler Wilcox, The Set of the Sails

You do not even think of your own past as quite real; you dress it up, you gild it or blacken it, censor it, tinker with it...fictionalize it, in a word, and put it away on a shelf - your book, your romanced autobiography. We are all in the flight from the real reality. That is the basic definition of Homo sapiens.
John Fowles, The French Lieutenant's Woman

The Way It Is, Bruce Hornsby

Boy, after the weather we've had this weekend, this looks something like I feel, windblown and somewhat tattered, except my environmental colors are grey and rather dismal ...but as some of your quotes infer, that's life...cool render, John.

To me it's still amazing that you always find the proper quotes and music links for your artworks, John. Make them more special than they are already on its own.
This time the quote/poem of Ella Wheeler Wilcox has struck me in particular.

High level of artistry! Very well done again!

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

The colors and contrasts are strong and well selected. The formations keep you wondering what is happening, makes one imagine the function and interpretation of the piece. Quotes are remarkable.
