John, your title may suggest that Hippias, born at Elis about 450 BC, may have had a pretty colorless life, but after checking-out the above link, I've some doubts about that, ☺ . Think however it that this younger successor of Protagoras would have been amazed about your abstract visualization about some aspects of his life, as it's perfectly done!

Yes, Hippias did live a colorful life but it is in the field of mathematics and his work in kinematic curves that drew me to him. Bringing color to Hippias is to highlight his work, not him, and the use of curves in my picture.
Thanks Mr C for your comments and the research you have added. Here is some additional information for everyone about the Quadratrix of Hippias, Wikipedia.
I don't want to know about numbers or mathematics (the reason being I am mathematically challenged ) Dear old Hippias is to be commended for inspiring such a vivid and eye catching work of exceptional grace and beauty.
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
