The Da Vinci Code
2003 Novel by Dan Brown
2006 Movie

Sangreal, Holy Grail

The Holy Grail is a dish, plate, stone, or cup that is part of an important theme of Arthurian literature. A grail, wondrous but not explicitly holy, first appears in Perceval le Gallois, an unfinished romance by Chretien de Troyes: it is a processional salver used to serve at a feast. Chretien's story attracted many continuators, translators and interpreters in the later 12th and early 13th centuries, including Wolfram von Eschenbach, who makes the grail a great precious stone that fell from the sky. The Grail legend became interwoven with legends of the Holy Chalice. The connection with Joseph of Arimathea and with vessels associated with the Last Supper and crucifixion of Jesus, dates from Robert de Boron's Joseph d'Arimathie in which Joseph receives the Grail from an apparition of Jesus and sends it with his followers to Great Britain. Building upon this theme, later writers recounted how Joseph used the Grail to catch Christ's blood while interring him and how he founded a line of guardians to keep it safe in Britain. The legend may combine Christian lore with a Celtic myth of a cauldron endowed with special powers.

Many have searched for The Holy Grail but it appears you may have found a clue to its existence Strat.
Indiana Jones would be proud.
The Da Vinci Code was a best seller and the movie was a hit.
Your creation makes it a trifecta.👍👍
Well done.

A both excellent and intriguing creation, John. Very inviting to start a new Da Vinci Code Webquest, 😁 .
This render is a prefect one for the SNATM-theme (🎥) too!

I have not seen the movie but have read the book more than once :) Your detailed narrative is very informative and the music is magical. I could listen to it for ever.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

A great movie but not one easy to depict...you've done an excellent job with all the complexities in the image...lots for Tom Hanks to uncover and figure out...marvelous addition to SNATM.
