1961 Movie Musical
The film was nominated for 11 Academy Awards and won 10, including Best Picture, as well as a special award for Robbins, becoming the record holder for the most wins for a musical.

A remake of the film is planned to be directed by Steven Spielberg, to begin filming in summer of 2019, produced by Amblin Entertainment and 20th Century Fox, and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. Rachel Zegler, a high-school student, is set to play Maria and Ansel Elgort has been cast as Tony. Ariana DeBose, David Alvarez and Josh Andres Rivera have been cast as Anita, Bernardo and Chino.

I liked that movie quite a lot and also the song "Maria". Just played it on YouTube to hear it again. Good choice of move and photo.

This really took me back Strat. I graduated from High School, joined the USAF and fell in love with Natalie Wood. Thanks for the memory.
Great photo manipulation to portray the setting where the movie took place. I too like the song Maria! 👍👍

Very cool, John, and fitting choice of title for this image...I like how you have not given us 'too' much...we can only view a part of the location leaving us to wonder what is taking place there... "There are eight million stories in the naked city. This has been one of them."...you have upped the entertainment with your inclusion of various conversations, refreshing the memory of a movie seen long ago...beautiful music too...thanks for this terrific contribution!
