A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), IMDb

Whatever you do....don't fall asleep.
Heather Langenkamp, A Nightmare on Elm Street

He leans in, resting his weathered hand on the bed. "Treat all the bad things like dreams, Kenzie. That way, no matter how scary or dark they get, you just have to survive until you wake up."
Victoria Schwab, The Unbound

The little girl's face was from Will's vilest nightmares. Cavernous mouth, distended chin, bastardized nose. The enormous, bulging eyes glared at Will, demanded he see the truth, commanded him to acknowledge his sin.
Kevin Wallis, Beneath the Surface of Things

Even if she be not harmed, her heart may fail her in so much and so many horrors; and hereafter she may suffer--both in waking, from her nerves, and in sleep, from her dreams.
Bram Stoker, Dracula

The stuff of nightmare is their plain bread. They butter it with pain. They set their clocks by deathwatch beetles, and thrive the centuries. They were the men with the leather-ribbon whips who sweated up the Pyramids seasoning it with other people's salt and other people's cracked hearts. They coursed Europe on the White Horses of the Plague. They whispered to Caesar that he was mortal, then sold daggers at half-price in the grand March sale. Some must have been lazing clowns, foot props for emperors, princes, and epileptic popes. Then out on the road, Gypsies in time, their populations grew as the world grew, spread, and there was more delicious variety of pain to thrive on. The train put wheels under them and here they run down the log road out of the Gothic and baroque; look at their wagons and coaches, the carving like medieval shrines, all of it stuff once drawn by horses, mules, or, maybe, men.
Ray Bradbury, Something Wicked This Way Comes

A very nice creation. That face even though only half visible shows the fear.

You will need to do 8 more renditions to catch up with Freddie and his slasher films Strat.
You are off to a good start. Something a little bit from the norm for you. I like it!
Great addition to SNATM.👍👍

We seem to share a rather macabre mindset, John...I can always count on you when I'm in the mood for a scary movie:)...I have seen several of the Hallowe'en and Friday the 13th movies etc. and I am certainly familiar with 'Freddie's work', but I don't believer I've seen any of them...however, I do love what you have created here...you have given the ghastly a particular beauty all its' own, with its' partial face, negative space, and implied texture in all the details...it looks like a sculpture...and your quotes, as always, add to the mood...excellent work, John, and thank you again for this marvelous contribution to SNATM!

John, I usually close my eyes (😜) for Horror movies like this one, simply because I don't want to watch movies of this genre. However, this doesn't apply to your perfect visualization of this SNATM-theme (🎥). I would be a thief of my ownd eyes not to enjoy this beautiful and intriguing render. The same also applies to the quotes and the music video.

Like what you did with this one, obviously because of the face in the shadow of what appears to be the evil stare of a sinister creature. A good one for SNATM, John.

My favourite horror movie of all time is "The Shinning" but this one is good as well.

Original piece of work, captivating actually, dramatic, color and lighting are superb. The best part is the shading, adds a tremendous amount of intrigue. Quotes, as always, very relevant.
