Modern language must be older than the cave paintings and cave engravings and cave sculptures and dance steps in the soft clay in the caves in Western Europe, in the Aurignacian Period some 35,000 years ago, or earlier. I can't believe they did all those things and didn't also have a modern language.
Murray Gell‐Mann

There were details like clothing, hair styles and the fragile objects that hardly ever survive for the archaeologist‐musical instruments, bows and arrows, and body ornaments depicted as they were worn. …No amounts of stone and bone could yield the kinds of information that the paintings gave so freely.
Mary Leakey

The need to make music, and to listen to it, is universally expressed by human beings. I cannot imagine, even in our most primitive times, the emergence of talented painters to make cave paintings without there having been, near at hand, equally creative people making song. It is, like speech, a dominant aspect of human biology.
Lewis Thomas

I get satisfaction of three kinds. One is creating something, one is being paid for it and one is the feeling that I haven't just been sitting on my ass all afternoon. William F. Buckley, Jr.

John, I like to provide you and the Caedes-friends with this LINK about the Aurignacian. You're not exploring the only the outer space but the Archaeological culture from the Late Paleolithic in Europe and Southwest Asia too. The visual results of your exploring activity are your wonderful renders.
The quotes and music links are an extra-ordinary and carefully chosen bonus. You're spoiling us again, 😁 !

Actually, I think this might have been what it was like for Roman Centurions, looking up at the architecture while walking through the gates and arch-covered streets of an unfamiliar city, recently conquered.
