Looks a lot like a large concrete drainage ditch I poured (with my crew) down a mountain slope, on an island nation on the far west side of the Pacific. The diagonal layers with those tapered black lines, *pouring* from one step to the next, meeting up on the lowest layer in the middle, is what draws that image in my mind. We built the trench wide, with descending layers toward the center. That was 50 years ago and, despite being considerably older and losing memory to Covid, that trench is firmly in my mind. Ya took me back there, John.

(Incidentally, I spent Thanksgiving there building it, Christmas too! No tree, no turkey, and no snow to shovel.)
