So much to explore..love the perspective here! Great idea for this pic...well the canyon on the left looks so much like the Badlands, SD ..I lived near there once...Nice shot!!
Good morning Matthew
Why call something with such beauty "badlands"? <grin>. Can I assume that "Other Lands" is taken in the same area? Brings back some good memories of my times in the outback. High marks again.
Had to put this one in my favorites. Between the desolation and the cracks in the road and you, the distant mysterious figure in black, there's almost something alien about it. Like the way your far off but didn't break the plane of the horizon too.
Very inspiring shot Matthew. Are you heading to Canada? Remember to slow down at the corners...don't want to go over the edge. Lots of room for that second person on this road;-)
You're right about that second person, I never thought about that. That would make a great picture hand in hand. I'll probably take a shot like that one day. Thanks for the idea. =)
The world is changed. I feel it in the water. I feel it in the earth. I smell it in the air. Much that once was, is lost, for none now live who remember it. -Lord of the Rings, The Fellowship of the Ring
This is an absolutely wonderful image that is a bit dampened by it's lack of contrast. You could truly improve this image in two ways. First you need to improve the contrast and do that in photoshop or equiv using the "Levels" control. Then use the saturation sponge with a large fuzzy brush set at 15% or so to bring out the sky and the brown vegetation. But I love the shot...evocative of lonely times and adventure way ahead.
I like it. You can come up with a lot of stories as to why he's wandering down the road all by his lonesome. Two thumbs up man. I like, and its in my faves.
