I have tried taking the tilt out of this photo, it was very slight, but annoying. Can you see the difference? I have learned how to straighten images in photoshop, but I am still doing it by eyeball, and not sure if I am getting it straight or not. Thanks for all of your comments on my first upload! Any suggestions on straightening images would be greatly appreciated too!

I love the colour of this sunset reflected on the water. It seems level to me!!! Well done!

Come, my friends, 'tis not too late to seek a new world. Push off, and sitting well in order smite the sounding furrows; for my purpose holds to sail beyond the sunset, and the baths of all western stars, Until I die. Tennyson, "Ulysses"

looks good. what you could try is drawing a horizontal line (pressing the shift key as you drug it out so it's straight) and then check that against the back line of the lake there, or have the grid show and adjust it that way(from the view/extras menu).

What a marvelous piece of artwork you have here. In the version of Photoshop that I have there is a "ruler" tool under where the eyedropper is and you can just draw a line along anything you know would be straight on your pic and then hit the image>rotate canvas>arbitrary, and all the work except the cropping is done for you!

:)PJ

EDIT: Although I'd say that it looks straight to me!!!

Still a great image Carol. Straightening in PS should be quite easy. Use the ruler tool (in the eyedropper menu), run it along a surface that should be straight in the horizontal or vertical, then go to 'image' 'rotate canvas' 'arbitrary'. Just like PJ said!

Hi Nigel!

I will try that next time, thanks! (I am sure there will be a next time, lol) I tried using the ruler, which at least gave me an idea of how straight it was, but I didn't use the rotate canvas arbitrary. I will certainly give that a try! Thanks for the feedback!

The reflactions and variations here are great. It's hard to get that perfect horizon line but this looks like you touched it up nicley. It may still be down on the left, but your eyes always mess with ya when looking at mirror reflections on water. Nice post.
