I love clouds, and have many different types on my website. I think this is my favorite. I recently discovered that this rainbow cloud is actually a fire cloud. The clouds have to be cirrus, at least 20k feet in altitude, with just the right amount of ice crystals, and the sun has to hit the clouds at precisely 58 degrees. Talk about being at the right place at the right time!

Beautiful shot. That is right place right time, I thought at first that it was added in but then I saw that the color was real. Nice job and great capture. Thank you for sharing.

Well, my love of clouds is probably showing on my photos! lol
But I tell you, over the many years of watching them and taking photos and doing canvas paintings of them, I never NEVER seen these! What a gorgeous thing to see. How fortunate you were to have been there, and had your camera. See? it sure pays to always take it along, I do that and have found many a great photo that way.I will enjoy very much having this on my desktop...thank you ever so much. Verena
