I have always wanted to go to Chicago to see this neon sculpture at the O'Hare International Airport. My father worked with artist Michael Hayden on this project, designing the computer system that runs the neon sculpture. The last time I had seen it we had stretched it out in the desert behind my father's shop to test it. By the time we had it all set up and ready to test, it had become dark. While running the tests a few of the neighbors from the nearby hills had driven over to check it out, they thought a spaceship had landed! I am so glad I was finally able to see the completed work up and running. What a beautiful passageway for travelers on United.

It is beautiful Slugger. It seems there was another post your father designed the computer system. It was on the west coast somewhere. It must have filled you with pride to see it.

Just a excellent post and thanks for sharing.

That is so amazing, Carol! How wonderful you were able to see this while in Chicago. Next time I fly through there I'll want to be sure and see it. You really captured this well.

That's unusual and it works well Carol - it got a decent score for a shot like this too. Very well observed!
