Hike down to a blacksand beach in Hawaii and these hills will fanfare for you! The water glitters in the sun more wonderfully than gold, and the sky tries to circle you in its great arms. What a thrill!
Hey Madison ... first, a belated welcome to the site. Hope you are enjoying your stay. :o)
Now then ... your photo here ...
Just took a quick tour of your galleries. And I have some suggestions for you, if I may be so bold. Ready? Good good.
First, watch your horizons ... keep'em straight. Some times a good photo can be made bad by this simple fact. You received some feedback on a prior image of yours regarding this element and that should be something that you check right off the start.
And try to employ some objectivity when viewing your own work behind the lens. That may be the hardest thing to do, as many of us get caught up in the moment and recalling what it was like having been there in a photo. We, however, the viewers were not ... and are not as emotionally attached to the subject matter as the originating author.
Looking at your visual offering here ... objectively, and of course, in my humble opinion ... the branches in the upper right that are sneaking into frame ... are a distraction from what I believe you wish us to see. So, if possible ... clone out the distraction in an image editing program like Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop ... or, watch your composition a bit closer ... or, crop your photo after the fact.
Here you go, a program widely used on the site here by many members and it is freeware. Photofiltre. You can make adjustments to colours/contrast, resize or crop and more. User friendly and tutorials are available online.
Hope this helps and doesn't offend, as that is not my intention here.
I do like the gentle sweeping curve of the water, and the composition is hmm, let's go with good. A final tip ... leave an image that you are considering uploading on your own desktop for a few days. I find, anyways ... that that is one way to increase my own objectivity.
Ok, you got a novel to read here, lol. Annnnnd ... if you don't already have an image editing program ... you do now. :o)
I like this scene!! Those covered green mountains are grand!! A little post work and it would really grab the viewer. Les pretty much summed it up on the points I'd have made. Keep'em coming as we always wanna see more!!
