This looks like a Purple Coneflower and a Monarch...but not positive...beautiful capture..I cant imagine getting such a lovely photo! But you did it! smile

I think Verena is right on both counts. This is a great capture! I especially like the well blended background which helps to emphasize both flower and butterfly.

lovely Flower. exellent composition. it would be a little better if the head of the butterfly was in focus. to me the butterfly looks like a Tortoisehell of some sort.

Yes it is, and a fine one at that. Tough to decide where to place the DOF on a shot like this too many subjects and not enough time. I looks like the the Beauty of the butterfly wilted the flower.:-) Very nice shot.

Very nice image, well done. The blurred background keeps the viewer's eyes on the beautiful subject at hand. lindyking is right... butterflies are not always easy to capture.

I had no shoes and complained... until I met a man who had no feet.
i love butterflies and this is a wonderful image of a beautiful animal.. or vice versa :) i love this one, great details as well. the little animal really stands out against the plain background and therefore, the focus is great. the background green is very calming and makes the image perfect for a wallpaper :) i love the vibrant orange colour of his wings.. it creates a great contrast with the rest of the image. nice pink, too :D

pitty the " eyes" of the Butterfly are not sharp.
A Butterfly specialist tolt me that if you got the "eyes" sharp it no point any more the rest is not sharp.
