First of all, well placed name ;-)
I like that it's b/w . If you want to give a nostalgic feeling, sepia would be nice... But i really like this one.. I like the lighting the placement and everything. It has beautiful curves this fiddle

Very nicely done for your first attempt at BW. Love the curves on the fiddle and the texture in the background.

This is a lovely subject for a black and white image but its such a shame that you got the focus on the background rather than the main subject image. You would need to adjust your depth of field. I think this is a great attempt though, i love black and white shots. More of them please :)

Yeah, focus seems a bit off... other than that, really beautiful image.. B&W works well and adds to the classiness :)

"Do you see any Teletubbies in here? Do you see a slender plastic tag clipped to my shirt with my name printed on it? Do you see a little Asian child with a blank expression on his face sitting outside on a mechanical helicopter that shakes when you put quarters in it? No? Well, that's what you see at a toy store. And you must think you're in a toy store, because you're here shopping for an infant named Jeb."

A good effort. The picture has lots of potential. Try again with the focus AND exposure set on the head of the violin itself, if your camera has those options to hand. Good luck!

Yes, thank you all for your comments. I understand now what you are saying about the focus. I'm just shooting with a point and shoot digital camera but I'll be more careful and I'll try and try again.
