These are the remains of the convento at Mission San Jose in San Antonio, TX. The convento housed the missionaries, among others. In 1785 the convento had 9 rooms downstairs and 5 rooms upstairs. The ruins you see now is the result of a major reconstruction which was begun, but never finished, by Benedictine monks in 1861. Not a perfect shot I know, but I couldn't resist the lovely arches under the warm Texas sun, lol.

I love the arches and the lush green foilage surrounding the mission. It looked like you were there on a beautiful clear day. Good work!

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

I love pictures of old ruins and this is no exception...I like how the structure is framed by the blue of the sky and the green of the plants. Great job!

I love all your pictures of San Jose Jess but this one stands above the rest - great depth and detail.I love arches and I could look at it for a long time. The 'rule of thirds' works to perfection here. Well done.
