The sun is directly centered in the shot, and the foreground grasses (in focus) make it all very serene.

---Yes, you too can have a snazzy Holiday Icon like this, just step outside, face southwest, and holler at the top of your lungs .. "Hey, Avatartans of Aussieland, Help me." ... and somebody will be there shortly, it may be the police, but it may be the 'AoA' representative for your area. ... really.

But words are things, and a small drop of ink, falling, like dew, upon a thought produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions think and smile. Art is everywhere, except it has to pass through a creative mind.

Very effective use of light and silhouette. Normally having the horizon smack in the middle of the picture is not very effective, but here it seems to work because of the strong verticals in the reeds.

Its very well done, but I feel if the sun were not in direct center, it would give it more character. I learned from several photogaphers such as Bryan Peterson and Ansel Adams that we are to put things like that in 'thirds'...so if you divide the photo in thirds it would make the sunset more to the right or left..but I LOVE the photo!! very very soft...

Very nice. Would be nicer yet with if you applied the 1/3 - 2/3 rule, IMHO :-)

A great picture. I love the pastel colours, and how you 'invaded' the reeds. It gives it an interesting feel. Well done!

Stunning shot. The contrast between the light and dark is great and the sun in the background, through the reeds is beautifull.
