As you can see I've been having some fun with butterfly photos.. Thanks to arneh for letting me use his photo Papilio Memnon (No longer on the site) Hope you like ;]
Great upload! The manipulation is very good, the colors you've used for it are really eye-catching, I like what you did here! This made it to my favorites.
I´m very pleased to see this great manipulation of Papilio, Andy. The fading "glow" and the shady parts makes the image very eye-catching and interesting. Very good job.
well i wouldn't say "out of retirement", but yes, going cold turkey sure isn't easy.. these have been a fun way to pass the time and i of course couldn't do them without the great shots to start with.. for this one what i did was make a layer that was only the butterfly, copy that layer, fill that with one of my fractal images, paste the original layer of the butterfly on top, and erase everything around the black lines on its wings. (if anyone has a clue what i'm talking about.. couldn't think of a better way to explain.)
This it THE coolest photo manipulation I've seen in ages. Kudos! Double kudos in fact... (It was naturally a great photo to work on from the beginning ;) but that's part of what makes this a masterpiece. You can't work with second rate stuff if you want to go for the best result.) Man, this more or less blew my mind.
This was great material to work with. Arne gets great clarity and backgrounds. You gave it beautiful color and an inner glow. I love the charcoal backdrop, the shapes are still there but don't interrupt the star of the show.
Very well done Andy. Kilie sums it up well. Arne offered up a perfect shot for this type of manip. I prefer this to the first because even with all the manip. it still has a realistic cool way about it. Like you just captured it in some odd lighting and it worked. Funny too, in natural photos I'm often removing blue in leaves. In this one it's my favorite part of the image because of the good contrast it offers.
Hi Andy, my oh my this is so beautiful, what skill displayed here, what talent! This is truly the prettiest image of a butterfly I have ever seen! The colors are so intense, so captivating! Good work, Sincerely, Marilyn
This is gorgeous! I just wanted to say thanks for commenting on my photo, "Hm...", but I got sidetracked and started looking at your pictures lol. This is really cool. I like the manipulation alot, it draws the attention right to the middle of the picture. It's like the colors in the butterfly are actually a flame!

Wow! That's one of the best manipulations I've ever seen... I don't know and can't even begin to guess how this was done! And if it was done as I think it was done, wow! That took a lot of work! 10 and going into favs.
Another great job! This is my favorite of all your works in your gallery...that golden amber design on the wings....just another great job and this is going into my favorites.
I know good things, I know bad as well. Any witness to the world will tell. If there is sorrow, then there is beauty and trust, a secret pearl inside the heart of us...
So truly, if there's light then I want to see it, now that I know what I am looking for.
Truly, if there's joy then I want to feel it, here in this world is where I want to be,
'cause I can't cry anymore.... (Truly-Delerium)
I like what you have done with this. I love the golden bronze hues you have given this butterfly. I also like that it is the only thing in color, it really makes it stand out against the dark gray background. Nice work.
