I felt the structure was sort of 'post time gothic' in feel, decayed and only slightly impossible. The overall feel of the image is a little 'bitty' somehow. What do you think? It appears dark as a thumbnail and is better viewed enlarged to get the effect.

Chris to start of a great image I like the Gothic look and the mood in the image. That said the mood I think is the most important of the image I the eye of the Artist there always Critique on your own work. On the other hand in the eye of the beholder I like.

The reason why the sunsets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

Love the topic (Long time SF fan.) and the evocation of strange time. I'm not sure what adjective to use but it does have some quality that challenges the sense of realism. Perhaps the overwhelming amount of intricate detail contributes to this, really old things tend to loose details. It will be going on my dt all the same.

It is not "The powerful attack the weak." it is "The fearful attack what they fear."

Aptly titled! I feel the sense of a sci-fi vibe as well. Which I really enjoy. The depth, minimal yet dramatic color choices add nice ambiance as well. "Bitty" may be lost in translation somehow, I am unsure of how you mean? My d'loaded version looks wonderful on my screen. Thank you for sharing it.

I think mythmaker put his finger on the bitty idea. There is perhaps just too much detail on the structure. Discuss.

viewed maximized, the cathedral looks like its destructing into space, and is certainly a reason why this image is surreal, but the intricacy of the structure helps create a disintegration feel, like the crumbles of the cathedral are being eaten away by the cosmic night. a cool (color and slang wise) image.

Love this - dark, dramatic, and with a great 3-d quality. The detail does work against the sense of it being old, but I actually like it as it creates an even more alien/foreign atmosphere. It's slightly jarring, but that (to me) makes sense for this image. Love the sky with the stars peeking through, as well.
