Chris, allow me to go out on a limb here, but the constellation most associtated with Spring is Ursa Major (Big Dipper) with its pointer stars pointing to Polaris in the Ursa Minor (Little Dipper). Looking at your sky and your constellation, am I on to something, or has the morning coffee again had the terrible effect on my rational thinking process?
I also feel the space and time element of the picture. I also get a feeling of life as the star's light hits the orb and illuminates the ruins in the foreground.
I like the rainbow effect inside/on the orb as it absorbs/reflects the star's light.
The reason why the sunsets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
Was a little confounded on the initial views/downloads.
At least that has been rectified to a degree.
Carrying on..
First glance, and perhaps with the power of suggestion of the current contest behind what is to follow ... balance.
"Balance refers to the distribution of visual weight in a work of art."
The simplicity of your image here is not it's shortcoming.
Viewing it in light of the above proffered explanation of 'balance' ... it appears to be imbalanced.
The lighter area of the night sky/space, in the left-hand side, only mitigates things a tad.
So..
Perhaps, compositionally ... in terms and referencing placement of the various elements.. suggestion.
Kind of triangulate the solar/light flare ... and position it in the left-hand side, with the top of the sphere ... and then, that of the one point of the platform that juts out (to an extent ... the more solid angular portion of the platform).
Smaller, too, of course.
Might add to the dimensionality of your piece and per suggestions made overall ... correct the aforementioned imbalance.
In my humble opinion, of course.

Space and time? Synonymous in my mind.
And yes, you succeeded in evoking just that with this viewer. Colour palette works well on this note.

Thanks for sharing your creativity with us. It is a nice piece.
p.s. Don't mean to sound too harsh in the above words. Was simply curious and tried to put my finger on the what and the why.. to answer some questions that arose in me head.
