As you walk around Belsen, through the trees and grass park where nature has reclaimed the camp, you come across The Silent House, a metal and glass structure as incongruous in the woodland as the concrete of the information centre.

Even if you didn't sign your images I'd know right away they were yours. Such stark images with heavy contrasts fit this site of Nazi horror perfectly. The emotions, power, strengths, dignity, and ideologies, to name just a few polarized characteristics that stand out between the Schutzstaffel (SS) and their victims is overwhelming. Your photos bring that out very well. I don't know if was your intent but the soft focus gives me a sense of unreality, perfectly projecting the sense that what happened here was unreal and more like a dream... an extremely bad dream. I am an historian of WWII history and the Holocaust and you have done this subject justice. Thank you.

I saw this in the VB and was impresssed by the air if stillness (silence) it portrayed even not knowing what or where it was. I wondered about what I supposed was some sort of Altar but after a bit of a google I know now that it is a table filled with written notes.
A solemn place of reflection sympathetically presented - I like the symbolic shadow and light.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . Very interesting photo. Looks like symmetric, but lighting is asymmetric. Has both darkness and brightness. Sure, it looks silent. But this silence is not of happiness and relax, this silence is of unrest and unhappiness. Very very interesting work.

Ive come across three photos of yours in the voting booth today and i must say i am very much loving your current series. I really love the way you are using such striking contrasts of light and dark that are giving your shots such a moody feel to them. I am vey inspired to give this style a go as i like it very much :)This shot in particular is so beautiful. Its like a more complex yingyang. Very still and quite, like the air is almost a palpable thing you could slice through. Awesome work :)

You know, Chris? I've spent about five minutes looking at this flipping back and forth between wanting to see it in b/w and as it is. And I'm still not sure. Now, two minutes later... I think the limited color and the feel of the image implies the impression of b/w photography on the heart without having to be. I hope that makes sense to you.
