Looking rather surprised, and very dead. I think the tree is the wrong side of centre but it seems to work with the lighter element of the sky balancing it. Comments and critiques welcome.

Great lighting. It would make a good Halloween image. Yes, the lighting is fantastic on the spooky tree. Good composition and use of differential shades of black.

I agree that the tree is in the right spot and works well with the sky. I like the crazy looking patterning of the branches in the tree up front as well as that other tree to the left and further back. I like the mood. Really well done. Faved.

Chris....This is possibly the best shot I've ever seen on Caedes. I've been experimenting a little with black and white but have never achieved anything like this level of success. The lighting is phenomenal, the detail is astonishing and the monotone creates an unforgettable mood. Faves and an AC nomination.

I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.
"Wrong side of centre"....hmmm. My understanding is that we in the West, due to how we learn to read, usually scan from top left to bottom right so this placement allows our eye to roll over the tree and find space beyond it... ideal... is it not? Gorgeous shot, luminous and inspiring, gotta get out there and find me a suitable tree. He He.

Love it!! very dramatic with the b&w.. the tree is in a perfect spot I think if it was dead centre it would take away the whole feel of the image.. the clouds are great it definately adds to the mood.. It has a dark feel to it.. i'm actually waiting for that tree to start walking.. lol.. very well done
