I have found it difficult to balance the contrast with the desire to maintain the fog feel. I think that there are too few foreground elements to give a well balanced contrast but offer it up for comment and criticism.
The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
No complaints that I can think of off the top of my head. I like the perspective in the photo and softness in the focus created by the heavy fog. The lighting creates a nice eeriness in the mood of the scene. Best of luck in the contest.
I like the stages of depth in this image. The foreground trees and fence are a little fuzzy and dark, a scene I am very familiar with even when there is no fog (living in the far north of the U.S. as I do), and with each successive shape beyond the clarity gets less and less. I also like your positioning of the road to the right; the only thing even close to centered here is the rising sun. It's not a "calendar perfect" scene but one that is more true to life. I think you did an excellent job of maintaining balance, Chris, but that's something I've come to expect of your work.
If you've ever wanted to make a difference but found it hard to believe that one person could... check out the Kiva Team Caedes discussion thread and discover that anything is possible.
AMAZING!!! This is truly a magical and mythical shot. I like the "tone" of this photo; the mist; the angle; perfectly capturing the atmosphere of this place and the moment.
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

this is a great image to me, it just captures something that makes me feel all sorts of emotions but i can't really put them into words. Great job in my opinion!
