My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
Absolutely stunning photo. Lacking the experience of the technical aspect of photography, I can only comment on what draws me to a photo, and causes me to linger. You have created a work of art, the setting, the tones, the angle, the objects, the sky, the shadow, etc. all come together to give you an original and captivating experience. Bravo, truly well done. Definitely a favorite.
Think the following just might reside with just me.
I.. would have opened up the vignetting a tad more, and in particular to give a little more room between it and the focal subject on the left-hand side.
Something about the 'scarecrow' (for lack of a more appropriate descriptor) being right on the cusp/edge of the vignetting.. lessens the overall visual impact for me. And I find my eyes drawn to the center/right of center.. and falling on the open ground.
I think.. if you created some more space.. and.. deepened the mid-tones ... would add/lend some more drama to your shot here. And in turn (and perhaps more so), create some division in and amongst your elements.
Probably seems like a strange approach to producing a unified and balanced image (visual weight).
Mind you, after that drivel above from yours truly.. would agree with Vicki above. In that you did produce a captivating, intriguing and evocative photo that drew me in for a close look.
Great tones and the long shadow adds a lot of depth to the image
