Not an easy shot. Your camera's meter must've been going nuts. Did you need to apply any HDR or other special layering? I like the feel of the moment... a calm weekend afternoon. Nice one, Chris.
Nice entry for the motion contest. I love the darkness, but suspect sunlight. Most intriguing for me is the way the branches of the smaller trees in the bg seem to be coming out of the water spouts. Subtle but significant.
You are the master of B/W as far as I'm concerned. When I saw this shot in the contest, I thought, "Why Bother?" Wendell, picked my shot which pleasantly shocked the heck out of me. He must have thought I had some pictures of him with a sheep or something.
Your post photo work is always astonishing. The slower shutter speed really did a number on the fountain. I simply don't understand how you achieve such detail along with intense contrast. I've always been a fan of your work. For what it's worth, you are hereby awarded a "fave", the winning shot in the B/W contest and one "ataboy".
This is a striking photo and yet soft. Unique, original and an excellent capture. The lighting is key to this scene. I view this with pleasure and am drawn to all parts of the photo, almost like an intricate painting that you view again and again and find something new and stunning every time you view it. Truly a favorite. Amazing work.
