Famous cities like London and Amsterdam have canals. It's mostly unknown that Middelburg, a small town in the Netherlands, has canals too. This picture shows one of those canals. The bridge across the canal connects the ancient streets 'Rouaanse Kaai' and 'Kinderdijk' to each other. The bridgde is called the 'Spijkerbrug' and is built in 1853, therefore it's one of the oldest bridges in Middelburg.

It’s a very nice composition. I think it could be a bit lighter, I’m straining to see details in what I think are very interesting buildings. I like your introduction and the historical info.

There are three colours, Ten digits and seven notes, its what we do with them that’s important. Ruth Ross

Interesting subject, but I'd have to agree with trisbert. I think it could be lightened a little bit perhaps. This is minor, but would have a significant influence if we could see the details in those interesting buildings! Thanks for sharing :)

"To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy." ~ Henri Cartier-Bresson
