After a walk of less than five minutes I entered the sleepy little town of Veere (less than 1650 people) . As you can see: no traffic jam but only silence. You allready can see the 'Grote Kerk' (Tall Church). With my next photo I will give you more details about that church.

Wil, Hans (dutch_postings) and you are right. The construction of this church and tower started in 1348 and ended in 1521 as there was a lack for money.

Hans, there may be some confusion as there is a very little town called Veere and a municipality called Veere. The little town Veere is a part of the municipality Veere.

tower not is build as a spire tower. And Veere sleeps really.

Cornelius waren de centen voor de kerk op. Wat zonden dat de toren niet is afgebouwt tot een spitsetoren. En Veere slaapt echt nog. Wat een heerlijke rust.
