This small street with small houses is just next to the 'Grote Kerk' (Tall Church) of Veere. At the end stands a cistern. The rainwater of the 'Grote Kerk' is collected into this cistern (built in 1543). In far former days people of Veere used this cistern as a reservoir for reserve water for themselves and to extinguish fires.
are there no cars allowed?
maybe I forgot something you wrote in one of your previous posts about it:o)
