This image is taken in the vicinity of the Lake of Veere. It was so peaceful that even the sound of birds rare could be heard.

this is gorgeous Cornelius! the angle you took it from is perfect, the variations in colours are lovely - they all compliment each other and the whole picture has a softness to it!

"Hello darkness, my old friend,
I've come to talk with you again,
Because a vision softly creeping,
Left its seeds while I was sleeping,
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence."
Simon and Garfunkel
Hello Cornelius, my friend. You made me think of these lyrics, with your title and picture. I can imagine just the whisper of the rushes and lap of the water in this beautiful picture. Even the birds are listening. Lovely scene of the lake and the surroundings!

LOL at Kate. I just showed the film The Graduate to all of my senior classes and they all went nuts over how many times the film played The Sound of Silence and I really have it in my head now, so to see it here was just too much. Anyway, about the photo -- it is lovely and serene and this looks like someplace I would like to spend some time. You've done a wonderful job of making these rushes look beautiful. Is the horizon line straight? It looks like it might be a teensy bit tilted, but I guess if I can't even tell for sure it must be okay.

Beautiful country side shot Cornelius and taken with a lot of skill and finess. Worth at least a 10 in the voting booth.
Good work my friend and thanks for sharing, Don
