Zierikzee is a small and ancient town in Zeeland, The Netherlands. On this image the 'town centre' with former townhall, built in 1550 - 1554, seen from above
Hoi, Cornelius!

what a well organised little town - love all the orange rooftops and is that a shopping street down there? - must go and investigate! lol! A very pretty place Cornelius - somewhere I would like to visit and you captured it well from your bird nest! :)

Several of my photos are available for purchase in larger format at Shutterpoint, and some are also available in high quality framed prints at http://djholmes.imagekind.com/
I like this angle because not only are we looking at the rooftops, but you've included part of the ground view and what look to me like a newer portion of town off in the distance with a high-rise apartment(?) building. The contrasts here are compelling :)

Zierikzee is het enige dorpje tot nu toe wat ik bezocht heb in Zeeland. Ergens in het begin van de winkelstraat, vanaf de grote kerk, is een boekenwinkel, tweedehands. Geweldig! Dank je voor dit mooie plaatje, Mich.
