Westkapelle is a coast village at the peninsula Walcheren, Zeeland, The Netherlands. This Westkapelle lighthouse stands in the middle of this village about 1 mile from the coast. At this place in 1470 a church and tower were built. After the church was pulled down, the remaining tower was (in 1818) converted into a lighthouse. In 1906 this lighthouse got its present light. I've climbed this tower and so I was able to capture a detail image of its top, which I posted yesterday. To Lyn I like to say: I didn't fly (this time) (lol).
