In the past my crew members asked me often jokingly while pointing their forefinger to the, our ship accompanying, seagulls: "Are those your pigeons 'C'?" My answer was always teasingly: "No, only two of them belong to me, and you can buy them even for a friendly price, but you have to catch them by yourself." I gave this answer in order to prevent that one could 'blame' me (please notice the quotes) for the droppings of the 'pigeons' on our ship.

Remembering this, I gave this image the title 'Maritime Pigeon'. Hope you'll enjoy it.

PS: I was asked whether this image was edited in PS or not. The answer is: "No." The image was taken with the aid of of 'fill in flash', a circular polarisation filter and was resized because Caedes allows not more than 3000 pixels and a frame was added.

Well 'C' this is a good photo and great narrative. I never thought of seagulls as pigeons but they have the same impact on what's below. This one looks so innocent as if he's saying: "That's not one of my droppings, do a DNA." Does DNA actually stand for Droppings Not Allowed? You really did good on this one. Nice photo and enjoy your day. Framing is excellent. Is it Mother's Day in your country?

Answer to Tick: No, in The Netherlands we have Mother's Day always at the second Sunday in May. This year it will be at May 11th. Don't see any relation between this image and Mother's day. Didn't, however, have the intention to give my wife a 'pigeon' as Mother's Day present, lol.

Jonathan Livingston Pigeon just doesn't have the right ring, Cornelius. And Walter Pigeon is is already taken. ;^) Beautiful capture of this attractive bird...in spite of his hygiene habits.

Very sharp and clear - very good photo Cornelius and very well presented. I know how annoying it is when you have just had the decks painted and the "pigeons" come visiting!

I sure like the capture of the messy bird Cornelius! He is very sharp and clear against the dark water. Very nice and we cannont call this a poop deck of a shot. Lol! Just downright good! Sandi♥

Thank you for the technical information about this delightful image. I love your sales pitch to the crew! We are all eager to learn if you have any buyers! The expression the bird's face tells me that no one has succeeded in finalizing their purchase. Good one!
